Publisher Microids is now bringing Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One after initially snubbing Xbox in favor of PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Adventure/party game Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party was announced last month for PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. An Xbox release wasn’t planned until the decision to skip Xbox platforms began to cause a stir on social media, prompting publisher Microids to announce an Xbox version.
Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party coming to Xbox despite initial snub
Responding to a user on Twitter asking why Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party wasn’t planned for Xbox, Microids said it would consider possibly bringing the game to Xbox consoles “if the demand was strong enough.”
Many Twitter users picked up on the reply and called on Microids to release an Xbox version of the game. Several hours later, the publisher announced that Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party would get a digital release on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
“Xbox gamers, we’ve heard you loud and clear,” Microids said. “Aware of the strong demand for this title, we have worked hard, and now, we can assure you that Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party will be available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in digital format!”
According to Microids, Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party will have you “embark on a thrilling adventure where you play as the legendary Inspector Gadget and save Metro City from the grip of Dr. Claw!” You will get to explore Metro City and complete quests in Solo mode while checking out 16 fun mini-games that can also be played in Multiplayer mode with pals.
We’re not sure why Inspector Gadget – Mad Time Party wasn’t considered for Xbox in the first place or why Xbox owners had to prove there was enough demand for the game. Nonetheless, it’s good to see Microids reverse its decision.
