Following the game’s original release on the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S gaming platforms, 2K and Marvel Entertainment have released Marvel’s Midnight Suns on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as digital-exclusives. As announced a couple of weeks ago, the originally planned Nintendo Switch port is no longer under development, and has been discontinued as per updated development plans. To mark the launch, the Standard Edition for Marvel’s Midnight Suns is being offered at a special price of $29.99 USD or local equivalent for PlayStation Plus subscribers and Xbox One users. This introductory price will run until 25 May 2023 on both platforms.
The release also comes with the availability of Blood Storm, the fourth and final post-launch downloadable content of Marvel’s Midnight Suns. This DLC, which includes the recruitable hero Storm, is available globally across all platforms. In Blood Storm, players can utilize Storm’s powerful wind- and lightning-based abilities to stun or knock back enemies while dealing massive damage.
Blood Storm introduces Storm as a new recruitable hero with 10 unique abilities. This weather-wielding mutant is also the focal point of new story missions that challenge players with fresh enemy types and encounters. For those who have completed all Season Pass missions, a grand finale mission shall also be offered. The DLC also brings an upgrade to the Abbey with an Enhanced T.H.R.E.A.T Room, three additional hero skins, seven Abbey outfits, and two swimsuits for Storm.
Players can recruit Storm by completing her first story mission, “Hard Knock Life,” which becomes playable after finishing “The Best There Is” during Act One. In combat, Storm proves to be a versatile hero, able to deal high damage to single and multiple targets and control enemies through stun and knockback. However, players will need to exercise patience for her abilities to reach full power.
Storm’s unique Abbey Research project, the Enhanced T.H.R.E.A.T. Room, introduces modifiers that allow players to adjust enemy difficulty, affecting stats and the amount of XP gained. This enhancement also allows for the inclusion of multiple heroes, and upgrading her research project adds even more customization options, including adding encountered villains.
