A creative Diablo 4 player customizes their Necromancer build to appear as one of the most memorable characters from the movie Cast Away. The player’s posted image was featured on Diablo 4’s official Twitter page, complete with a Diablo-based pun.
The Necromancer class in the Diablo series is a popular option that allows the player to summon various types of undead minions to fight alongside the player. Much like all the classes in Diablo’s newest installment in the series, the Necromancer class in Diablo 4 can be customized using the game’s robust customization options. These customization options are new to the series, as players are now able to modify almost every aspect of the character being created. Players shouldn’t expect the same amount of customization options as games like Elden Ring or Monster Hunter World, but Diablo 4 is fully capable of replicating iconic characters if the player is creative enough.
Diablo 4 player Jordan Raskopoulos posted on Twitter an image of a Necromancer build that looks like the character Wilson from one of Tom Hank’s most memorable movies Cast Away. The image showcases a bald, completely pale woman with a bloody hand print on her face. The look has a striking resemblance to the volleyball Tom Hanks named Wilson in the movie. It almost appears as if this face paint option was made specifically for the character. The image itself was re-tweeted by the official Twitter page for Diablo with the fitting pun, “Cast away thy sins.”
Cast Away is a Tom Hanks movie released in 2000, directed by Robert Zemeckis. Tom Hanks plays Chuck, a FedEx executive whose plane crashes in the Pacific Ocean near a stranded, uninhabited island. With no way off the island, Chuck opens up one of the FedEx packages to find a volleyball. Throughout the course of the movie, Chuck forms an emotional attachment to the volleyball, naming it “Wilson” and using it as a way to cope with his loneliness and maintain his sanity.
Cast Away has absolutely nothing to do with the Diablo series, however creative fans have already put together famous characters with Diablo 4’s improved character creator. General reception toward the Wilson build has been positive, with one fan posing their version of Tom Hank’s character from the movie as a Barbarian class. It may be too early to tell now, but it seems like the new and improved Diablo 4 character creator will be responsible for some truly amazing fan creations for years to come.
Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
