Konami is giving away Mirror Force to Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links duelists as part of its 6th Anniversary Celebration Campaign.
An aptly named 6th Anniversary Celebration Campaign begins today for players of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. Konami Digital Entertainment has updated the fast-paced version of its tabletop trading card game to commemorate its U.S. release on January 11, 2017. Duel Links made its way to Steam later that year, and is now playable on PC as well as Apple and Android mobile devices.
Rewards for logging in during the anniversary include the Mirror Force trap card, a highly sought after card in competitive dueling. If you’ve been playing Duel Links for a while, you also get a Character Unlock Ticket and a Skill Ticket. Everyone, including new mobile duelists, get login bonuses of 1,000 Gems, an anniversary play mat, and anniversary card sleeves for your digital collection. You also get four Ultra-Rare (UR) and four Super-Rare (SR) Dream Tickets, which can be exchanged for cards of the same rarity (1 glossy of each). And, until February 27, you can take on a special campaign to receive twenty digital booster packs.
Since its release, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has over 150 million downloads around the world. Digital duelists have collected, between themselves, over 77.7 billion cards and participated in six billion duels. It spans the dueling ages of old and new Yu-Gi-Oh! players, whether you’re waiting on the draw to pull off a spell chain combo or you’ve become a master at Link Summoning. Fans of the anime series are sure to enjoy the nostalgia of memorable characters appearing in the game as well.
The trailer for the 6th Anniversary Celebration Campaign features Weevil Underwood, the Insect-Type specialist from the cartoon. His carefully planned swarm attack is thwarted as the animation turns into the artwork for the Mirror Force trap card. Mirror Force is a particularly useful card in the competitive format, able to destroy all monsters in Attack Position if the opponent declares an attack. It’s sure to see a lot of use by casual duelists on the mobile platform as well (and might entice new players to join).
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links is available for free on the App Store for Apple touchscreen devices, Google Play Store for Android devices, and for PC via Steam.
