Microsoft has once again updated the selection of games available through the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, this time adding one of 2022’s highest-rated new game releases, cult hit Vampire Survivors. Xbox Game Pass is updated on a regular basis, ensuring subscribers always have something new to play.
There are currently three tiers of Xbox Game Pass that subscribers can sign up for. There’s the vanilla version of Xbox Game Pass that gives subscribers access to console games, and then there’s PC Game Pass, which is the equivalent of vanilla but for PC gamers. And finally, there’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which combines the PC Game Pass and vanilla Game Pass services together and adds extra perks on top. Vampire Survivors had previously been available to PC Game Pass subscribers, but as of November 10, those with Game Pass on consoles can check the game out as well.
Vampire Survivors was released as an early access game at the end of 2021, but its official PC launch happened in October of this year. Vampire Survivors hit PC Game Pass as a day one release, and the console version is also a day one launch. Vampire Survivors is a roguelike with old-school graphics where players are tasked with killing endless waves of enemies, and it has earned very positive reviews dating back to its early access days, to the point where it’s one of the highest-rated new game releases of 2022.
At the time of this writing, Vampire Survivors has an 86 overall critic rating on review aggregate site OpenCritic. It’s been highly-praised for its depth and addicting gameplay, so fans of the roguelike genre should certainly consider checking it out. Being able to play it through Game Pass either on PC or console is hugely convenient, and hopefully it means even those that normally wouldn’t give a game like Vampire Survivors a chance will see what it’s all about.
Vampire Survivors is far from the only game added to the Xbox Game Pass lineup this month. The new Xbox Game Pass games for November 2022 have included a number of titles already, including day one game The Legend of Tianding and Ghost Song, and there are even more new games for subscribers to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
Notably, Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment joins Xbox Game Pass on November 15, as does Somerville, a game that should be of particular interest to fans of games like Limbo and Inside. Later this month, Gungrave GORE and Evil West are set to join the Game Pass lineup, so subscribers should have plenty to look forward to for the rest of November 2022.
