Operation Vector Glare has been officially delayed by Ubisoft this month past its scheduled June 7 release date, meaning fans will have to wait a little longer for the new Rainbow Six Season to begin.
As revealed earlier this year by the R6 development team, Operation Vector Glare will introduce Sens, a new operator with the ability to deploy a special Projector System.
This new gadget has been in testing along with the rest of the new season, which also ships with a New team deathmatch map, shooting range and Battle Pass. But since this new content has been in the testing phase, issues have arisen that have caused the development to pause the scheduled rollout later this week.
Ubisoft Confirms Rainbow Six Siege New Season Delay
Ubisoft has confirmed that Operation Vector Glare and the new season of Rainbow Six Siege will no longer release on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. This affects all platforms, meaning there will be no access on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or PC. The bad news is that we no longer have a release date for when Vector Glare will be available to download and play, although the official R6 website still lists the update as arriving in June 2022.
Ubisoft has shared some feedback on why they have delayed the release, citing an issue that would have caused problems for players, while priming that a new release date will be announced as soon as possible. The full message shared by Ubisoft explains: “After completing a testing pass, we’ve identified a player experience issue and have decided to postpone the release of Vector Glare in order to address it. We’ll share details on the new date as soon as we can.”
As mentioned above, the new Vector Glare Operator sports an R.O.U. Projector System, making it possible to block lookout points. Sens is an attacker but not a particularly fast one, so it will be important to use the throwable Projector in the best way possible.
A new deathmatch map is also being launched called Close Quarter, which will be the first dedicated TD map that focuses on movement rather than defence setups. More covering this new content will be announced as we get closer to release day in June 2022.
