After a little confusion about a release date, Striking Distance Studios has stepped in to confirm that The Callisto Protocol will be out in December — and it’ll have a 60fps performance mode.
Some confusion about a potential new release date for The Callisto Protocol caused some concern about a delay, but the devs have confirmed the game will still be out on December 2nd.
The Callisto Protocol will feature a 60fps performance mode
The Epic Games Store briefly listed The Callisto Protocol with a release date in February 2023 — this has been changed back to its initial release date of December 2nd, but the devs have also taken to Twitter to reassure fans that there won’t be a delay for the game, saying, “We would love to inform you all that we will be shipping globally on December 2nd.”
Just this week, we had the news that WB Games Montréal’s Gotham Knights will run at 30fps on Xbox Series X|S and won’t feature a performance mode — Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game had previously been cancelled to “provide players with the best possible game experience.” In their statement confirming The Callisto Protocol’s December release date, the devs also assured fans that the game will “have a 60fps performance mode.”
The Callisto Protocol will be out on December 2nd — we know its playtime will be fleshed out with hidden “beta paths”, and that the devs wanted to make its gore “as realistic as we could”. What do you think of what we’ve seen of The Callisto Protocol so far? Will you be playing on day one in December? Let us know in the comments!
