Shortly after the launch of the PS5, it became very difficult to find any PS4 deals available to buy as stock for both of Sony’s consoles completely dried up. The situation has improved over recent months, but if you aren’t looking for where to buy the PS5, then your only option is to pick up a second-hand or refurbished PS4. Unfortunately, that means there aren’t many deals or bundles featuring these consoles.
There were signs of some good news at the start of the year as Sony announced it would continue to manufacture the PS4 throughout 2022 with the aim to get around 1 million consoles on shelves this year. Now, it may sound counterintuitive to ramp up production of a completely different console in order to meet the demand for the PS5, but because the PS4 uses older hardware it’s easier (and cheaper) for Sony to manufacture.
The reason? Well, the PS5 is so popular that it wants buyers to have something to play the latest PlayStation games on. With some of the biggest PlayStation exclusives and best PS4 games releasing this year such as Horizon: Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and God of War: Ragnarok launching simultaneously on PS4 and PS5, it makes sense to have this extra option.
But where are we today? Well, those brand new PS4 consoles were available to buy from PlayStation Direct in the US in March and sold out in a matter of days. Since then, we’ve seen no new consoles for sale.
Was that due to more supply issues, or was the demand for the console higher than Sony expected? It’s hard to say, but it does mean that the only way to buy a PS4 right now is second hand or refurbished. If you’re happy to do that, it’s not a bad way to play some of the existing and upcoming PlayStation exclusives with a budget console. You can find the best prices for those PS4 consoles right here.

PS4 consoles and bundle deals (US)
New PS4s were available to buy – but only for a very short while. Much like Sony’s newest console, it too has already sold out again. It seems weird saying this, given the console should have gone out of production at the end of last year, but it’s been so hard to get a PS5. Seeing this, Sony wanted to give people an option if they’re desperate to play new releases that are also launching on the previous generation console.
If a brand new console comes back in stock we’ll add it below. For now, your only option is to go second hand or refurbished.
PS4 consoles and bundle deals (UK)
No brand new PS4 console or bundle deals are available to buy in the UK right now. It’s unclear if it will follow the US lead and get a batch of new consoles soon but we’re not expecting it. There are lots of second-hand consoles, though, so here are some of the cheapest prices we’ve spotted right now.
