Capcom has addressed the recent Street Fighter 6 leaks on Twitter, seemingly confirming their veracity and being thankful for the positive reception.
Capcom has addressed the recent Street Fighter 6 leaks that have been making the rounds online. Street Fighter 6 was recently announced during Sony’s June 2022 State of Play event, with a trailer that showed off the gameplay and new character designs, and revealed the game’s 2023 release window.
Street Fighter 6 will be taking a new approach with its gameplay, with a World Tour mode that shows the characters traveling around Metro City. The game will feature a new Battle Hub for the multiplayer matches, which will include a Real Time Commentary feature that will narrate the match as it goes on. The initial trailer confirmed that Ryu and Chun-Li will be part of the game, as well as Luke from Street Fighter V. The trailer also included two new characters: Jamie and Kimberly. Jamie appears to be using a form of drunken boxing in combat, while Kimberly was only briefly seen during the final moments of the trailer.
A lot more information has been revealed about Street Fighter 6, via a number of leaks that have come out about the game. The leaks include the artwork of the entire roster of the game, as well as beta footage of Cammy fighting Ken. Capcom has addressed the leaks in a post on the official Street Fighter Twitter page, which seemingly confirms that the leaks are legit, and thanks the fans for their positive response to the content leaked and for their continued support.
As residents of Metro City, we’ve all seen things we weren’t supposed to see, but we’re all in this together. We appreciate all the positive reactions. Thank you for the support!

The Street Fighter 6 leaks are hardly the first of their kind, especially in regards to fighting games. The Super Smash Bros. series has endured a number of leaks over the years, with the infamous ESRB leak revealing several characters in Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U ahead of their official announcements. At the very least, the response to the new roster, the new visual style, and the gameplay changes has been positive, which is good news, considering that Street Fighter V faced considerable backlash at launch, due to a severe lack of content in the base version of the game.
Street Fighter 6 is going in a new direction on several fronts, in terms of story, gameplay style, and multiplayer. It must be annoying for the developers to see content being leaked, but Street Fighter 6 won’t launch until 2023, so there is plenty of time for changes to be implemented and for new content to be added. The competitive fighting scene will be entering a new era in this current console generation, and a few early gameplay and roster leaks won’t affect the success of Street Fighter 6.
Street Fighter 6 will release in 2023 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
