When Marvel’s Spider-Man was first released on the PlayStation 4 in 2018, Ghostbusters fans were delighted to find that the game’s New York City map included a virtual recreation of Hook & Ladder 8, the famed firehouse that doubles as the Ghostbusters Headquarters within the films.
After receiving critical acclaim, Spider-Man would see a rerelease, remastered for the PlayStation 5 and PC. Of course, being available on PC means one thing; mods, and lots of them, with today’s feature showcasing a rather zany one, allowing players to strap on a Proton Pack as Bill Murray’s Ghostbuster character Peter Venkman, web-slinging and battling criminals around the city.
Using the player model from Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the mod is merely the skin being used as one of Spider-Man’s selectable suits. This means Peter Parker’s voice is still intact, so for those hoping to hear Murray cutting one-liners on Kingpin or trying to sweet talk Black Cat, you’re out of luck.
Oh, it should also be noted while the Proton Pack looks great in-game, with the cyclotron lights being seen as fully lit, there’s absolutely no functionality, being used merely for cosmetics.
For those who openly declare that bustin’ makes us feel good, the mod is now available at NexusMods.com. Special thanks to Ghostbusters News reader Kolby Laughter for the heads up!
