  • Sodapoppin Reveals His Thoughts on a Potential Switch from Twitch to Kick

Popular American Twitch streamer Sodapoppin shares his thoughts on potentially joining the newly launched streaming platform Kick.

Sodapoppin, a popular Twitch streamer with a massive following, recently shared his perspective on the possibility of switching from Twitch to Kick, a new streaming platform that aims to challenge Twitch’s dominance in the industry. For those unaware, Kick was introduced by Trainwreck in December 2022 and has since gained a lot of attention in the streaming community due to its attractive creator program and less strict terms of service.

Despite the many benefits that Kick offers over Twitch, it seems that Twitch’s strict banning policies are causing top streamers to switch to Kick. The news of Adin Ross, one of Twitch’s top streamers, announcing a permanent move to Kick following his permanent Twitch ban has sparked significant attention, particularly since Adin alleged that he received a threatening phone call from a senior Twitch figure before his ban. Furthermore, Kick is seeking to attract a larger audience by offering attractive deals to Twitch’s top talent.

There are rumors that Adin received the biggest contract in streaming history from Kick, although the exact amount is unknown. As a result, many streamers are being asked by their fans if they would consider joining Kick if offered a similar deal. Recently, Twitch star Sodapoppin was asked the same question during a stream, and he responded by saying that he would accept a million-dollar contract. He compared Kick to Mixer and felt that the website may eventually shut down, but he believes Kick would fulfill its contracts, and he would return to Twitch.

Just a few days ago, xQc was also asked if he would consider joining Kick, but his answer was not a straightforward “yes” or “no.” Rather, he explained that he tends to avoid making firm declarations about the future. He stressed the significance of staying adaptable and receptive to change, in case an opportunity presents itself in a different direction.

There is no denying that Kick is currently the dominant streaming platform, and dethroning it would be a challenging feat, as evidenced by past attempts. However, Kick has been striving to maintain its relevance by continuously attracting top streamers and adding new features to the platform. Recently, Kick announced a streaming application and a clip feature that it claims is superior to Twitch’s. While it remains to be seen if Kick can compete with streaming giant Twitch, the emergence of competition is always a positive development. Perhaps Kick’s arrival will motivate Twitch to innovate even more.
