Summer Reading Kick-off – Tuesday. A portion of Rodman Public Library will be transformed into a nine-hole miniature golf course, each with an ocean theme, as the library kicks off the Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program. Program runs through July 30. Patrons of all ages can play a round of putt-putt and are then encouraged to sign up for the reading program in which they can earn chances to win some great prizes.
Summer Movie – 5:30 p.m. June 6. The June selection of RPL’s Summer Movie Serie features an animated 2003 computer-animated adventure film released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is 1 hour, 40 minutes and rated G. Children ages 13 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Due to licensing agreements, Rodman Public Library cannot publicly reveal the titles of the movies. Book clubs
Books and Coffee – 6:30 p.m. June 13 at The Branch. Club meets every second Monday of the month. Led by Charlene Duro, the selected will be “People We Meet on Vacation,” by Emily Henry. For more information, call 330-821-1313.
True Crime Junkies – 6:30 p.m. June 14. Club, led by reference librarian Ashley Mock, normally meets every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The June meeting will be the second Tuesday, however, due to a scheduling conflict. The selection for June 14 is “The Killer Across the Table: Unlocking the Secrets of Serial Killers and Predators with the FBI’s Original Mindhunter,” by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. Kids Book Club – 4:15 p.m. June 15. RPL invites children ages 8-12 to join the third Wednesday of each month. “Pi in the Sky,” by Wendy Mass is the selected title for June. Led by Stacy Digianantonio, Kids Book Club meetings include a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack. Ongoing programs
Kids Gaming – 4 p.m. Wednesday. Held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. Children ages 8-12 are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc., on devices provided by the library. Registration is required for each session. Teen Gaming – 3 p.m. Wednesday. Those ages 12-18 are invited to Rodman Public Library every other Thursday to play their favorite video games on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 3 & 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo WiiU. Teens will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from “E” for Everyone, up to “T” for Teen level will be offered. Tech Time Thursday – 11 a.m. Thursday. Rodman Public Library schedules a librarian every Thursday at the Main Library to answer basic questions about your computer or electronic devices, such as cellphones, laptops and tablets.
