Capcom has debuted some brief Resident Evil 4 Remake gameplay footage during its showcase this evening, offering a glimpse at how the game looks in motion. In short? Atmospheric. Stunning. Creepy.
The gameplay footage was taken from the beginning of the game, where Leon S. Kennedy makes his way to the village. Already we can see how this section has been overhauled over the original version of Resident Evil 4, as a thick canopy of trees and ominous fog adds considerable atmosphere to the already-creepy setting.
We’re also given a look at Leon’s face in the game, and he’s pretty much what you’d expect – a slightly more mature version of his Resident Evil 2 Remake counterpart.
Check it out below.

Elsewhere in the showcase, Capcom developers for the project revealed the basic backstory, which is indeed the same as the 2005 version: Leon investigates the disappearance of the President’s daughter, which takes him to a remote location in Europe.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24, 2023.
