The main advantage of Painkiller I consider its diverse levels. Places of purgatory, they are all quite real, but as if they were torn from the usual entourage. All the locations of the game, although it has a common gloomy atmosphere, but they are completely different in execution and chosen topics. The stages can be divided into several groups: the cemetery and temples made in the Gothic surroundings; historical places, in the form of castles and fortresses; levels of a more modern species, associated with cities; military and industrial facilities. Each chapter of the game meets us with a completely new environment. We start among the crypts and graves, and then we smoothly switch to military bases, with hangars and tanks. In my impression, the opera theater in the cordials of the city, and the giant metal bridge located somewhere in the mountains were especially remembered. Others will probably remember the final episode of blood pressure – the place where the horror of the war froze in time.
