On PS5 consoles, Sony is bringing UI enhancements to Game Base and Trophy Cards, as well as accessibility features like mono audio for headphones. PS5 users from U.S and UK also get to preview a Voice Command feature, allowing them to open games, apps, and settings and even control media playback through voice commands in the English language. The PS app and PS Remote Play also get some updates.
What’s New in PS5 UI?
PS5 users can now have a total of 14 games and apps on their home screen, along with being able to filter the games with the genre. For trophy hunters, Sony has updated the visual design of trophy cards and lists. PS5 now will offer suggestions for which trophy to earn via the trophy tracker on the PS5 Control Center. For live streamers, Sony has added the ability to “Start Share Screen” from the Create Menu directly.
New Accessibility Features?
Screen reader function now gets support for more languages – Six new languages have been added namely Russian, Arabic, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish and Korean. Mono audio support has been added for headphones for players with unilateral hearing loss. Checkmarks on enabled settings, allowing for easy, clear visibility.

Variable Refresh Rate (
If you have a TV that supports a Variable refresh rate, rejoice !! Sony has announced the much-awaited V.R.R support for PS5 is right on the horizon, “We’re also pleased to share that Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is planned to release on PS5 in the coming months.” Sony has also stated that current PS5 titles can be fully optimized for V.R.R through a patch and future games may include V.R.R support at launch, additionally users can also choose to apple V.R.R to games that do not support it, “This feature may improve video quality for some games. If this results in any unexpected visual effects, you can turn off this option at any time.”
