Like so many other things around the world, now the availability of certain Xbox accessories is being affected by global supply chain issues. Specifically, Xbox wireless controllers are becoming hard to find in parts of the world, resulting in major retailers running out of stock.
Thankfully, the shortage hasn’t hit the US just yet. However, it is affecting many other countries like Germany, France, Australia, the UK, and more. You can see a listing here on Amazon’s UK website that shows many of the more common models as being out of stock. A generic search for “Xbox wireless controller” yields results for many off-brand options instead, as well as wired alternatives (since nobody wants wired controllers these days).
Microsoft has acknowledged the shortage and says it is working hard to resolve it. There is no telling on if the shortage will spread to the states, or if this is just another sign of things to come as the supply chain issues continue to affect all industries around the world.
It’s bad enough that the consoles are so hard to find, now customers who finally get their hands on one may find themselves waiting for the accessories needed to share their new jackpot with friends and family. Hopefully, this clears up quickly so gamers can remain calm as they continue to wait for everything else in life.
