Microsoft has seemingly leaked plans to bring Monster Hunter Rise to Xbox and PC Game Pass

Monster Hunter Rise will be released for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on January 20, 2023.

That’s according to a since-removed message published on Thursday by the official Xbox Germany Twitter account, which was spotted by Resetera users and viewed by VGC prior to its deletion.

The tweet, which is pictured below, was seemingly mistakenly published ahead of an official announcement planned for a later date.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak – new trailer

Monster Hunter Rise was originally released for Nintendo Switch in March 2021 before making its way to PC in January 2022.

It is already Capcom’s third-highest selling game of all time, having sold 11.2 million copies as of September, trailing only Resident Evil 7 (11.3m) and Monster Hunter World (18.5m).

A major expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, launched for Switch and PC in June and has sold 4.4 million copies, according to its publisher.

VGC’s Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak review called it an excellent expansion to one of the series’ best games.

Capcom announced in November that it has partnered with Tencent’s Timi studio to create a new Monster Hunter game for mobile devices.

Timi is best known in the west for Call of Duty Mobile, which has topped 650 million downloads since launching in November 2019.
