NORFOLK – The number of people paying attention to competitive gaming continues to grow as the e-sports industry has gained approximately 96 million viewers over a two-year period.
Dylan Frohberg of Norfolk has played video games nearly his whole life and recently signed with a professional gaming team.
Frohberg says he started playing video games on the Xbox 360 when he was 5-years-old, but didn’t start taking competitive gaming seriously till this past year.
“On YouTube and Twitch, I see a lot of professional players playing the game I’ve been playing forever, which is Fortnite. I just wanted to be like them. It seemed like something I really wanted to do, so I gave it a shot and it has been paying off.”
Frohberg says he signed with Team Vice, which originally started as a Call of Duty team and six months ago started getting into Fortnite and recruited him.
Dylan competed at the Norfolk LAN Party gaming tournament this past weekend. You can watch him stream by viewing his Twitch channel “ofdylan”.
