Unlocking Scavenger Abilities
You’ll need to go through Episode VII, The Force Awakens, until you complete the story mission Scraps for Scraps to unlock Scavenger Abilities. The main goal of your party, which consists of BB-8 and Rey (a scavenger type character), will be to collect 20 pieces of scrap scattered throughout Niima Outpost.
You’ll be able to create all three Scavenger Tools at their respective workbenches in the region once you’ve collected all 20 pieces of scrap. After you’ve completed the crafting process, you’ll be given a short lesson on how to use the Breaker Blaster, Glider, and Net Launcher. All Scavenger Tools will be permanently unlocked after finishing Scraps for Scraps.
Using Scavenger Abilities
You’ll need to know how to use your special powers once you’ve obtained them. Simply hit the circle button (B on Xbox) to bring up the tool menu whenever you’re piloting a Scavenger. You can equip any of the three tools her, then drop it by pressing the circle again. You can make a tool as many times as you like, so feel free to switch between them as much as you want.
Here’s a quick rundown of the scenarios in which each tool will be useful:
- Breaker Blaster – Look for glowing blue cracks in Lego walls. To shatter a wall, you may have to fire many times.
- Glider – Look for glowing blue translucent arrows. Although you can glide at any time, there are sections when glide is required for puzzles.
- Net Launcher – Look for wall portions with huge white Xs, since these can be used to build a climbable net with the Net Launcher.
Scavenger Tools have an endless number of uses; however, you can drop a tool at any point by hitting B/Circle or simply swap it out with another by accessing the Tool menu. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is now available on PlayStation4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
