Team of the Season is a fan favorite Ultimate Team promo and it will be making its way to FIFA 22 shortly. TOTS highlights the top players of the 2021/2022 club football season and we’ve got everything you need to know about the upcoming promo.
TOTY and TOTS are widely regarded as the two most exciting Ultimate Team promos of the year. If you’re new to FIFA, you may be wondering what sets these two promos apart.
Team of the Year celebrates the best of the calendar year, while Team of the Season uses the club football season to judge the top players in the world. TOTY only focuses on a starting eleven plus a few honorable mentions, but TOTS introduces a ton of cards across most of FIFA 22’s leagues.
Here’s what you need to know to prepare for the biggest promo of the year, including an official release date and a look at which players could be involved.
TOTS FIFA 22 release date & schedule
Thanks to EA’s official TOTS webpage, FIFA 22 players can expect TOTS to begin on April 17. While players won’t receive a TOTS squad on April 17, the promo gets off to a start with voting for the Community TOTS.
The FUT Captains promo is set to conclude on April 22 and it’s safe to expect the Community TOTS squad on this date. This would give players ample time to cast their votes for their favorites.
A late April release date has been customary in the past and this seems to be the case for FIFA 22. TOTS usually arrives before football leagues play their final game of the season, which once again lines up with the above dates.
Here’s a list of the TOTS squad release dates which we will update as more information comes to light:

FIFA 22 Team of the Season explained
Team of the Season is the longest-lasting Ultimate Team promo of the year. The promo usually begins by highlighting two leagues at a time. Each week new leagues will be the focus of Ultimate Team players as valuable cards get added to packs.
The leagues in the spotlight remain in packs for a week until they’re replaced by the following leagues. However, the final squad in packs is expected to be the “Ultimate Squad” which combines the best players from each of the previously released TOTS squads.
As you may have already noticed, there will also be a “Community” squad that FIFA 22 players will have a chance to vote for.
FIFA 22 TOTS player predictions
In this section, we’ll reveal five players from each of Europe’s top five leagues that we believe should be included in the TOTS promo. Although there will be plenty of squads up for grabs, we’ll focus on highlighting the potential players from Europe’s elite.
As club football seasons come down to the wire there are some truly spectacular title races that have yet to be decided. While the majority of TOTS players will come from title-challenging teams, it’s important not to forget other key performers outside of the top teams.
Here’s a list of potential TOTS players that we could see in the future:
- Joao Cancelo – Manchester City – LB
- Trent Alexander Arnold – Liverpool – RB
- Mohamed Salah – Liverpool – RW
- Bernardo Silva – Manchester City – CM
- Declan Rice – West Ham – CDM
- Karim Benzema – Real Madrid – ST
