Publisher Secret Mode and developer Cosmonaut Studios have announced that Eternal Threads, a “time-twisting narrative adventure”, will be coming this May. A single-player, first-person, non-linear experience built around choice and consequence, Eternal Threads sees you playing as an operative whose mission involves fixing “corruption in the timestream”.
Sent to the north of England in May 2015, you’ll explore a seven-day timeline in a bid to save six people who died in a house fire. You’re unable to simply stop the fire, instead having to manipulate the choices made by the housemates leading to the event, so that they ultimately survive. The game gives you total freedom to watch and alter events as many times as you want, in whatever order you like.
You can move objects around the house, reveal stories and secrets, while major changes can rewrite the timeline entirely, adding new events or replacing others. Each of the six housemates can be rescued in numerous ways, with each outcome having an impact on their lives, should you succeed in ensuring their survival. Your goal is to try and secure the best possible outcome for everyone.
Eternal Threads will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on 19th May, with a Switch version arriving later in the year. The game will support English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese localisations for its subtitles and interfaces.
