Hogwarts Legacy fans are expressing their concern that the upcoming Harry Potter RPG will be cancelled on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ahead of its release later this year.
Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy in action below!
Predictably, this has caused some concern that Warner Bros. will announce a similar fate for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy.
Over on the game’s subreddit, fans are discussing the likelihood of the Harry Potter RPG being scrapped for last-gen consoles. At this stage, it’s important to note that Warner Bros. has given absolutely no indication that Hogwarts Legacy will be exclusive to new-gen hardware. And as others have pointed out, Hogwarts Legacy has one thing that Gotham Knights never had: a Nintendo Switch version.
Hogwarts Legacy was confirmed to launch on Nintendo Switch alongside previously confirmed platforms in March this year. While I have no idea what black magic is being used to get the game onto Nintendo’s hardware, I can’t imagine for a second that Warner Bros. would have announced a Switch version so long after the game’s original announcement unless it was absolutely confident it could manage it.
And if Hogwarts Legacy can run on a Switch? It can definitely run on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The bottom line here, my friends, is that we have absolutely no reason to worry right now.
Hogwarts Legacy is currently aiming for a holiday 2022 release window, which means it’s likely to arrive any time between October and December.
