The release date for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is still unknown at this point. FromSoftware only revealed that the upcoming reboot for the Armored Core series is coming within the year. However, a new report suggests that the highly anticipated mecha game is arriving before the holidays.
Armored Core 6 is arriving ahead of Shadow of the Erdtree.
Exputer reports that the release for Armored Core 6 has been narrowed down to the months of September or October. The game will be released ahead of the recently announced Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
According to industry sources, Fires of Rubicon is slated to be launched in the fourth quarter of the year, ahead of the holiday season. The report said that the game will likely release towards the end of September than early October.
The source also adds that FromSoftware has prioritized Armored Core 6 over the new Elden Ring DLC. The studio has not yet revealed the availability of Elden Ring’s first expansion. FromSoftware may be looking to capitalize on the holiday season as it is the most lucrative period for publishing games.

Fans of the mecha game have been waiting over a decade for the release of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. The last title for the long-running video game series was released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Armored Core 6 was announced during The Game Awards last December. It was a big day for FromSoftware as Elden Ring was recognized as the Game of the Year during the event. It was the perfect venue for the reveal of the studio’s return to one of its flagship game franchises.
FromSoftware has steadily shared details for Fires of Rubicon. FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki said that the upcoming Armored Core game will stay true to the spirit of the series. However, the new game will not have a direct connection to previous Armored Core titles.
Armored Core 6 will focus on a single-player campaign and will not feature a multiplayer co-op mode. The studio believes that an intense experience “can only be realized in single-player mode.”

As with previous Armored Core titles, the upcoming game will lean heavily on the customization of the player’s mecha. The loadout that a player uses will greatly affect the difficulty of the game.
Similar to other FromSoftware titles, Armored Core 6 will have epic boss battles. Players are still expected to learn enemy attack patterns and formulate strategies to efficiently take out bosses.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S later this year.
