Nintendo has been making video games for a very long time now. Some veteran gamers would remember that back then video games used to be way more expensive. Some say that games used to cost more than 70$ back in NES and SNES days. And the price remained around 60$ in the generations that followed it too.

From the time of Playstation 2, Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 4, and Nintendo Wii U, till now, most games are priced at a standard 60$. Now that the price has started taking a leap to 70$ per piece, gamers have started wondering about the value those games hold.

60$ price point of Nintendo Switch games, worth it? or not?

When gamers buy a game, there are a number of aspects they consider. Gameplay, Visuals and the nature of the game, all play a major role. And sometimes players consider one more thing, the replayability of the game and its total playtime.

If a game takes players anything from 20-60 hours to complete, it is considered a game worth its price. While some games that complete within a few hours and still cost gamers a standard 60$ are considered overpriced, as per the common notion.

So the question of Nintendo Switch games being worth that 60$ price has only one answer, it depends on the gamer, and the game itself. If a game offers plenty of playtime and still has a bunch of replayability options, it is worth that price.

Nintendo itself makes games that give gamers a lot of value in this category. Their games are mostly built with a “gameplay first and everything else later” mindset. So instead of offering players an interactive movie, they sell a game worth playing and coming back to.

From Super Smash bros to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo has always developed games that give players hours and hours worth of playtime and the confidence that coming back to the game would be as easy as it was to boot it for the first time.

There are also a bunch of new third-party games making their way to Nintendo Switch. Two games from the Persona series, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 are coming to Switch in January. Other than those games, there are chances we could see Metroid 4, and even new hardware from Nintendo next year.
